The trek to Ko Samui....started when the Lomprayah high speed catamaran docked onto the sand. It was definately interesting. Then took truck taxi through the traffic, with the crazy driver weaving in and out of traffic, coming hmmm maybe 2-3 cm from killing several motorcyclists not wearing helmets, and us had no seat belts provided. We finally arrive to our hotel. That was the night of a mass thunder and lightning show and monsoon rains. To bad.. didn't get any video of it because of the rain. Last night we were walking down the main street on Chewang Beach where there hundreds of stores selling knock off name brands. So yes that is what your souveniors will be. Knock off everything. Dolce and Gabbana, Quiksilver, Nike, Billabong, Versace you name it they have it. I think they even have knock of Coke. And they sell Marijuana on the beach, but it's probably a cop wishing to catch you so they can rip you off, all you have to do is bribe them.
To finish off about last night.. sorry I got side tracked talking about knock offs. So anyways.. we were just minding our own business walking down the street looking at the side walk sales when all of a sudden a Thai Man puts a real monkey into my arms. The monkey took my water bottle and started to chew on the lid. It was so soft, and very light. It was probably the coolest thing I've ever held in my life.... yes he wanted money. He says 200 baht I take picture for you. No thanks we said (I already got to experience holding a monkey for free!!!)

Today we went on a safari trek To Namuaung Jungle. It was a half day trip which included an elephant ride jungle trek, alligator show, monkey show and a hike to the waterfalls for a swim. We kinda figured it would be a bit cheezy (Tom-Like the circus we went to in Mexico), but figured it would be an interesting way to pass the afternoon.
I think we were right...pretty beatens! The jungle trek on the elephants was pretty cool and I even got to ride right on it's neck as the "driver". The alligator show was OK, but the monkey show was too funny. All it was was a monkey which climbed a coconut tree and pulled down two coconuts. That was it...then the show host shooed us away said in a stern voice .."all done. you go see waterfall now". So we did. A quick ten minute hike to a small waterfall with a nice swimming hole. Nice and refreshing.
So here are some photos of today journey. Enjoi !

Monkey !

Mike steering the elephant with his Wife on the saddle !
Alligator !
This was pretty funny. Monkey and his friend the dog. The Monkey was picking and cleaning the dogs fur. The dog was OK with this for only so long. Then the dog playfully snapped at the Monkey and tried to get away, but the Monkey was too quick and grabbed his leg.
Mike at the Waterfall !That's all for now .
PS - Mom Walz - Hope you are still feeding Peems the Cat and cleaning her litter box. If not, she is probably pretty hungary and our house stinks like poo. Darcie wants you to tell Peems that she is missed very much.

How can you tell I have nothing to do but check your blog? I need to get a life! Seriously, I DO have other things to do .. been working non-stop at finalizing the Appreciation Day event and getting the first Emory newsletter underway so scoping out your blog is a pleasant escape.
Anyhow ... fantastic pics ... and you both break me up with your stories! Pretty nice beaches eh?
The flood threat is escalating and the river is expected to hit the high level mark here by the weekend or early next week .. just when Norm and I are leaving for Emory! Auntie Jeanie says they've emptied out their crawl space (she's only two blocks from the river) and have put together their emergency stash to take up to camp if they get flooded out. Lucky for them that they've got a place to go to!
Oh, by the way ... while she and Don were up at camp this past weekend, Hollie had to have good 'ol Bruno put to sleep. He'd had a stroke and couldn't stand up.
When Sam told me I started to bawl like a baby ... I loved that big puppy, his sad eyes and his reaction when we said "don't look Brew!" at the dinner table!
Gotta run ... keep having fun.
Love ya ... Mom
Hey Punks:
It's been fun reading your blogs - it makes it seem like you aren't even away anywhere...the pictures give it away a little bit though. :-). BUT...only 9 more days until you return..ha ha ha. But, you are pretty much returning to summer conditions here so that will make going back to work even worse...ha ha.
Eleina has been sleeping 9, 10, 11 hours at night...straight. No, we don't drug her. This week I am working on disciplining her to take daytime naps. No more lounging/feeding in my bouncy arms all day long. This a.m. she cried for 65 mins, then snooze, then cry, then snooze, then up. They say it'll take 3 days to break her in. Good little girl :-).
See yous soon. Love Lesa & Eleina.
Hi you two. Sounds like you're having an amazing time. Thinking of you often as we are slaving away
HERE! I keep saying there is someting wrong with this picture- kids in Thailand, us working. HaHa !! In all honesty I'm very happy for you and the memories you are making. Yes, I'm looking after Peems probably better than you do.
She gets her box cleaned everyday,
treats everyday or two aand alot of talking to. Today I encouraged her with treats (always under the bed) and she ate from my hand and purred. She still won't let me touch or brush her but I hope to win the battle. She must miss you a great deal but only 11 more sleeps. One day she was out from under the bed but when I walked in she scooted under the bed. She is a cutey tho. Looking forward to a
"Picture Show"çause I'm really enjoying the pics and your comments. "Man and his wife on elephant" Keeping having fun and be careful. Love you both.
Hey just a short note to see if this is finally working - a wise note or not a note but a thought no not a thought either but an observation - life acquires to many numbers and passwords and its driving me crazy!!!!!!!!
o-kay so obviously I have finally fiqured it out after trying now for oh since my last comment some two and a bit weeks ago. I've now sent a message to your wall Darcie because you sent me one and I thought that was the only way to get a message to you. I love the picture of you guys on the elephant. Love Rae-Lynn and Gena
enjoyOh the picutres ///the elephants name known as JUNGLE JUICE...what happened to the under water pictures fishes and turtles.
OK ... so there's a message to Mom Walz about Peems ... where's the message to Mom Hnetka telling me to "stop bugging our blog!"? Do you realize it's been two full days since your last entry which means I have nothing to do but my stupid puzzles? Get with the program, eh? STOP HAVING SOOOOO MUCH FUN!$%&*
Just talked to Rae-Lynn who did a "flood watch adventure tour" to Derby Reach. She said the river is rushing and that piles of curiosity seekers were down there to watch the activity. Dontcha know, when she was pulling out to head for home, BCTV news pulled in so I guess the 5 o'clock news might provide us with some pic's.
Also had an e-mail from Brenda Stubbings who'd just come home from Emory. She says that the creek isn't too bad so far .. it's only over the second step up to my bluff ... but that the Fraser has now come up to the railway bridge and there's no more pathway from that point on ... it's ALL underwater!
Apparently, the Board at Emory plans to give A-Level people a call to NOT bring our trailers down if the flood level on the creek is a real threat. I can just see it now ... the Fraser and Emory are going to butt heads right in front of A-8 .. bye, bye campsite! No matter what happens though .. whether we're allowed to tow down and have to tow out in a hurry or aren't allowed to tow down at all, Auntie Jeanie says we can set up housekeeping on their site. Bonus! At least this way, we don't have to put our entire summer on hold. We may not be on the creek BUT, we'll STILL be able to camp.
Anyhow ... take care. Looking forward to reading about your last adventures since the 4th.
Love ... Mom (the pest)
